The list below goes over frequently asked questions from 3DXpert users moving to the new version of the license system. 
 

Q: Will my current license files still work?
A: License files are valid for 3DXpert versions prior to 3DXpert 23.2.5.
Starting with 3DXpert 23.2.5 you must use an activation code to activate your license.

Q: Will my current Network license still work?  
A: License files are valid for 3DXpert versions prior to 3DXpert 23.2.5.

Q: Do I need an internet connection to activate my license? 
A: Activation is much simpler when you have an internet connection. However, activation is also available for off-line computers. See instructions for activation while off-line here: Offline Activation

Q: Can I borrow a floating network license? 
A: License borrowing is possible with the activation system. Instructions for how to borrow licenses can be found here: License Borrowing

Q: Is it possible to operate the license with remote access? 
A: Yes, the license can be operated through remote desktop.

Q: Is it possible to run the license server on a virtual machine? 
A: Yes, as long as it meets the Network Server Requirements.

Q: How do I update my license? 
A:  Please follow the instructions on License Update

Q: When will my license expire?
A: Your license is valid for one year from the day the activation email is sent to you. You may view your license expiration date on the License Manager (available from the 3DXpert Control Panel).

Q: Can I move my license to another computer?
A: Yes. You will need to deactivate the license on your current computer and then activate it on the other computer. Please follow the instructions on License Deactivation and License Activation (see the above Activation links).
