This article covers the steps to move a CimLM software license from one computer to another.  The recommended steps are different for each of the license types outlined below. 

 

Computer-Locked License

1) Follow these steps on the old computer: License Deactivation

Note: Please Contact Support to reset the license if the old computer is not accessible .  If possible, please provide the name of the computer that should be deactivated.
 

2) Follow these steps to activate the new computer: Computer-Locked-License Activation

 

Dongle-Locked License

1) Nothing has to be done on the old computer, just follow the activation steps on the new computer: Dongle-Locked-License Activation Instructions

 

Network-Computer-Locked License

If changing servers:

1) Follow these steps on the old server: License Deactivation

Note: Please Contact Support to reset the license if the old server is not accessible. 

2) Follow these steps to activate the new Server and update the clients: Network-Computer-Locked License Activation


If changing clients:

1) Nothing has to be done on the old client computer, just follow the client activation steps on the new computer: Network-Computer-Locked License Activation

 

Network-Dongle-Locked License

If changing servers:

1) Nothing has to be done on the old server, just follow the activation steps on the new computer: Network-Dongle-Locked Activation Instructions


If changing clients:

1) Nothing has to be done on the old client computer, just follow the client activation steps on the new computer: Network-Computer-Locked License Activation
