The table below outlines the error messages that may occur when using CimLM and what they mean.

This Activation Code could not be recognized. Please check your activation code.This is the error that will occur if the code is entered incorrectly. If there are not any typos in the code, then please Contact Support with a screenshot of the code and the error.
This Activation Code is inactive.This error will only appear if your license(s) has been manually deactivated in our CRM. It is possible a new license has been issued to replace it. Please Contact Sales to find out why the license was deactivated.
This Activation Code does not match the product you are trying to activate. Please check your activation code.When the license manager is launched by a program, it will only be able to activate licenses for that product. Make sure to launch the manager from the software product that is associated with the license key.
This Activation Code does not match the license type you are trying to activate.This error code will occur if you try and activate a server license on a client or vise-versa. It will also occur if a dongle license is activated without a dongle connected or a computer-locked license is activated with a dongle.
All seats for this Activation Code license are being used on other machines. Each code has a limited quantity of seats associated with it. If that number of computers have already been activated, then this error will appear. If you need to release a seat, please Contact Support with the license code and the name of the PC you want to deactivate.
This Activation Code has expired.This error will only occur with trial/eval licenses that always have an expiration date. Please Contact Sales if you need to extend the trial period.
You need to be on active maintenance in order to update to a newer version.This error will occur if your try to activate or update to a version that was released after your maintenance contract expired. Please Contact Sales if you would like to get access to the latest version.
This Activation Code could not be recognized. Please check your activation code.This is the error that will occur if the code is entered incorrectly. If there are not any typos in the code, then please Contact Support with a screenshot of the code and the error.
No new updates are available.This will appear when you update a license if your license is already updated to the current release.
A trial for this version of this product was already used on this machine.By default, each computer is only granted one trial license. Please Contact Sales if you need to extend the trial period.
This evaluation Activation Code was already activated on a different machine.By default, the evaluation license is designed to only be used on one computer. Please Contact Sales if you need to try the software on a different PC.
This Activation Code is already in use on another machine.This error only applies to network licenses. Each network license can only be activated on one server at any given time. If you need to release a license, please Contact Support with the license code.
The license file could not be generated. Please try again later or contact support.This error will occur if the connection to our license servers goes down during activation. Wait a few minutes and try again. Please Contact Support if this error continues to appear.
Invalid Request File.This will happen during offline activation if all the licenses have already been activated.   Please Contact Support if you need to remotely deactivate a license.
